Hat Trick
Lately, it seems like everything in the fashion world is all about larger-than-life accessories – flashy jewelry, elaborate coats, and knee-high boots with sky-high heels. Another of this season’s biggest trends is the resurgence of hats. We’re not talking about standard cold-weather beanies that serve a purely functional purpose; instead, today you’ll find flamboyant, stylish chapeaus for everyday wear.
In the winter collections, hats in every shape and size were found all over the runways of the major fashion houses. Some boasted epic proportions, while others offered a low, slinky profile. All succeeded in turning heads.
The wide-brimmed fedoras from Gucci screamed 70s glamour, while Marc Jacobs pillbox hats gave off more of a 40s vibe. John Galliano showcased hats in a variety of styles that were festively adorned with everything under the sun, including feathers, sequins, and veils. The extra-large brims from Lanvin were pulled down low over the eyes for an air of mystery, while the unique designs from John Rocha seemed to defy gravity in their reach for the stars.
Bearpaws
Until recently, I wasn’t a fan of those big, clunky, furry boots that are so popular these days. Every time I would see someone wearing them (which is surprisingly a LOT in Texas!), I would think they just looked too hot. I figured if I ever wore them I would sweat to death.
But my attitude completely changed recently when my dad got me a pair of Bearpaw boots. I must admit, I was totally wrong!
I adore these boots. They’re surprisingly soft, snuggly, and comfortable; in fact, they’re the most comfortable shoes I own. They’re the only ones that I don’t want to take off at the end of the day. I wear them around the house like slippers! And no, they’re not too hot at all – no sweating to death here. While they do keep me warm, I don’t feel like I’m walking on burning coals.

A Penny for your Thoughts
Remember when Penny Loafers were just for “old people” to wear with their conservative office attire? Well, not anymore, my friends! Loafers have made a return to the fashion world. They are a little more feminine this time around and some designers are even putting a heel on their penny loafers. Here are some celeb sightings with the loafer trend.

Classical Ballet
I think we can all agree that no matter what our style is, every girl needs a pair of ballet flats in her closet. It’s a classic fashion piece that won’t be going out of style anytime soon. They are easy to wear, comfortable, and practical. And for my Christmas shopping marathon?? You better believe I had my ballet flats on that day!
There are lots of different varieties in ballet flats: embellished, glossy, patterned, textured, round toe, pointed toe, suede, leather… the choices are endless! And we aren’t the only ones who think they’re a staple. Check out these celebrities in their ballet flats and where you can score their style:
